Reduce Backlight Timer
Depends on your requirement; you can reduce the screen and keypad backlight timer. 1 to 2 seconds is adequate enough. You can change the setting from your mobile phone itself. If possible, simply turn off the backlight function when you are not using it.

Remove Unnecessary Sounds
This does not mean that you have to put your ringtone to silent mode. Instead, there are some sounds that you can switch off like keypad tone, etc. Reducing the volume of your ringtone helps to save your battery charges.

No Bluetooth
Do not activates the Bluetooth function if you are not using it. This technology is draining your battery, even when you are not making a call! Besides, you can avoid your mobile phone from being hacked through Bluetooth.

No Infrared
Similar to Bluetooth, infrared drains your battery especially when waiting to receive a signal. Activate this function only when you are required to, and switch it off right after you have finished using it.

No Games, Music Or Videos
For games, music and videos-addicted, your chances to experience a dead battery is high. Most programme applications are running in the background and use a lot of battery charges. However, this does not mean that you should stop playing games, surfing sites and taking photo. This is only an information for you that programmes like these uses a lot of energy to run the processor, backlight, sound effects, flashlight, etc.

Signal Problem
One of the obvious activity that drains your battery rapidly is signal searching. When you are at a weak or nearly no signal at all, your mobile phone will tends to search for any available signal and this use a lot of battery charges. The best example for this situation is when you forget to switch off your mobile while on a flight. It is advisable to start making a call only when you receive a full signal. Roaming should be treated the same way, as well.

No Vibration
Avoid using the vibrating mode of your mobile phone, if possible. Instead, use ringtone only. Vibration drains more battery charges compared to ringtone. Reduce the ringtone volume if required. If you have to use the vibration mode at a noisy area, ensure that the function is switched off before you leave the place. Use back your ringtone, only.

Switch Off Mobile Phone
Please switch off your mobile phone. This is the most effective way in saving your battery charges. If you do not plan to answer calls during your sleeps, meeting or movies, simply switch off your mobile phone. Do the same at an "out of coverage" area such as at an underground transit station.

Power Save
If your mobile has a power save mode function, use it!

Cut Short Your Calls
This tip is not appropriate to love couples. How many times have you heard someone says, "My battery is dying...", but they still continue chatting? Sometimes, a dead battery is the best excuse to end a conversation.

Do Partial Recharge
If you are going to attend a meeting and your battery is low, do the partial recharge for about 30 minutes or more. Do not leave your battery in the ‘low level’ for a long time. The internal safety circuit and the clock are still running and use your battery charges, without you noticed it. The only time you will notice it is when you want to make a call, and your battery is already dead!

Telecommunication Towers
Every time your mobile phone sends a signal to a telecommunication tower to check for any incoming calls / messages, a large portion of battery charges are used. If you are near to a tower, only a small amount of battery charges will be used for communication. But if you are far away from any tower and surrounded by lots of electrical appliances (i.e.: in a shopping mall, factory, hospital, etc.), more battery charges will be required. That is the advantage of being near to a tower.

In a building, wherever you go will affect the battery charges. When you are at a basement floor, your mobile phone will experience a short standby time. At home, if possible; leave your mobile phone at the highest floor and facing a telecommunication tower. While driving, do not leave your mobile phone somewhere close to the floor. Instead, put it at a higher place near the window but avoid from direct exposure of sunlight.

Change Battery
Replacing a nickel-based battery to Li-Ion battery will reduce some of the battery's problems.
